This gorgeous 230-mile stretch of pristine waters from Kerr County to San Antonio Bay gives residents and visitors the best rafting, canoeing, and fly fishing experience ever. Floating (or “tubing”) along the Guadalupe with your friends will re-energize you for the next big adventure.
Exploring Enchanted Rock
This favorite spot in Fredericksburg is ideal for hiking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing, picnicking, bird watching, studying nature, geocaching, and stargazing. Its pink granite pluton batholiths and breathtaking views are the pride of Texas.
TIP: The rock’s 1,000-foot-long cave makes for an exciting subterranean experience as well
Taking a dip at Hamilton Pool
This must-see place was formed when an accident of nature made the dome of an underground river cave in due to widespread erosion. The result is a natural wonder which attracts residents and visitors for its giant limestone slabs, refreshing pool, and exotic flora. Movies, like Jennifer Connelly and Don Johnson’s “The Hot Spot” and the experimental drama “Tree of Life,” were filmed on location here.
TIP: Make sure you come to the park early, though, Because it easily gets filled with visitors, especially on weekends.
Visiting Big Bend National Park
Texas’s largest national park is bigger than Rhode Island. But that’s not the reason why it attracts droves of visitors regularly.
