Pineland TX Real Estate and Homes for Sale in Pineland TX

Welcome to the tiny town of Pineland, Texas. Nestled at the edge of Sabine National Park, it is located 10 miles west of Hemphill. Pineland, which is in southwestern Sabine County, is a relatively young town compared to its neighboring cities. The community’s original name was John Adam’s Mill back in 1902 when a sawmill and lumber camp were built in the area. Two years later it adopted its current name for its post office application.

The lumber industry seeded an economic boom in Pineland and consequently the population quickly rose to about 1,500 residents by 1925. Commercial establishments and businesses soon followed, and today the city operates two hospitals (the Pineland House and the Pineland Health and Rehabilitation Center), the Pineland Municipal Airport, the West Sabine Independent School District, and the Arthur Temple, Sr. Memorial Library.
